David Ryan studied at the National College of Art and Design and from there he pursued a career within the visual arts. His initial passion was fine art painting but in 2005 he replaced his paint brushes with a camera. Photography gave David a more immediate and flexible way to express his artistic talents. This transition into photography opened up a whole new world to David and he quickly became one of Ireland’s best known equestrian photographers. His work frequently appears in well known Irish and UK magazine titles.

Today David photographs weddings but more importantly he captures a day as it truly happens and produces real and unscripted images. He sees a wedding as an incredible story of family, friends, love and tradition. He aims to discreetly document this unique day as an observer working in the background. David prefers to work in black and white and his unconventional images are fresh and spontaneous.
