Last month, Lauren, a Texan anthropologist, married Christian, a fellow Texan and creative writer, on the remote island of Inis Oírr. This rugged island, located five miles off the West coast of Co. Clare, is the smallest of the three Aran Islands, where Irish is the main language spoken by its 250 residents. The historic ruins of Teampall Chaomháin, overlooking the village, made a splendid location for Lauren and Christian's intimate wedding ceremony. They were surrounded by family and close friends, as they they made their vows to each other under a grey Irish sky. After the ceremony, celebrations commenced with pints of porter at Tigh Ned, while food, music and dancing followed later that evening at Tigh Ruairí. Thank you Lauren and Christian for inviting me to document your wedding and it's a day I won't forget in a hurry. I'm already looking forward to my return journey to this wonderful little island in the Atlantic Ocean, where the people are welcoming and the pace of life is pleasantly slow. Here is a small collection of authentic images from the day and if you like what you see, feel free to leave a comment below.
